Albeena Nisar
Scientific, Car T Cell Therapy Centre & cGMP Cell Therapy Unit Project Officer Tata Memorial Centre
Albeena Nisar is a scientific officer at the CAR T Cell Therapy Centre and cGMP Cell Therapy Unit at ACTREC, where she leads projects on CAR T cell therapies and oncolytic virotherapy for resistant cancers. She also serves as a DBT BioCare Scientist and Principal Investigator, focusing on the design and development of novel indigenous oncolytic vectors for therapeutically resistant breast cancer.
Previously, Albeena held leadership roles at TATA Memorial Hospital, overseeing CAR T and cell therapy manufacturing, R&D, analytics, and facility operations. She has conducted postdoctoral research at ICMR-NIRRH on preclinical testing of anti-infertility vaccines and held academic positions at the University of Kashmir.
Albeena earned her PhD and MPhil in Biochemistry from the University of Kashmir in collaboration with CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Kashmir. Her early research experience includes projects at AIIMS and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences on innate immunity, immunological techniques, and clinical biochemistry.
