Dr. Manel Juan Otero is Head of Immunology at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where he leads work spanning clinical immunology, immunotherapy and anti-tumor cell immunotherapy. His expertise covers allergy, autoimmunity, immunodeficiencies, transplant immunology and immunotherapy, with a current focus on anti-tumor immunotherapy. He has led research and clinical initiatives in genetically engineered T-cell therapies, including the CART19 Immunotherapy project for cancer treatment. Dr. Juan Otero previously served as Head of Section in Immunology at Hospital Clínic Barcelona and has held leadership roles within the Catalan Society of Immunology. He holds an MD and PhD in Immunology from the Universitat de Barcelona.
